10 minutes from Farlam Hall, you’ll find New Mills Trout Farm where you can test your mettle against specimens like rainbow, blue, brown and tiger trout in their stream fed lake. It is very accessible with wheelchair friendly platforms available.

Or, if river fishing is more your speed, the Brampton Angling Association sells day and week permits at the local post office for fishing on the Rivers Irthing, Gelt and Kingwater. Their waters are designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest and are all to be found in picturesque locations nearby.

Carlisle Angling Association controls approximately 7 miles of mainly double bank fishing on the River Eden with 27 named pools providing fishing for salmon, sea trout, brown trout and coarse fish.

And, approximately 40 minutes away, the Eden Lacy fishery have 1.8 miles of fishing on the River Eden in the stunning Eden Valley, catching Atlantic Salmon (catch and release), Brown Trout and Grayling.
