Welcome to Farlam Hall
Where life is delightfully uncomplicated
A haven of calm, nestled away in the leafy Cumbrian countryside, where a warm welcome awaits you at the door.
Experience the very finest of classic French gastronomy and taste the very best wines from the world famous wine regions of France when we host "A Taste of France at Farlam Hall" on Wednesday 29th November, in partnership with Corney & Barrow, one of the oldest independent wine merchants in the UK.
Join our Chef Patron, Hrishikesh Desai, as he talks about his love for French cuisine and wines and the inspirations he has taken from the many years he spent pursuing higher education in Culinary Arts and Management at the Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon and his travels in France.
Heavily influenced by his wine teacher, Marie, who held the title of Meilleir Sommelier de France, and the time spent with the sommeliers at Le Chateaux de Bagnois & Les Maison de Bricourt, carved out his fascination of the skill involved in pairing the perfect wine with his dishes.
Using this extensive knowledge, Hrishikesh will delight you with a classically French 5 course Tasting Menu, with the perfect wine pairing served with each course.
Join us to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year in the comfort and luxury of our beautiful country house and experience a truly unique and memorable festive season with your loved ones. Warm cosy fires will welcome you as Hrishikesh and the team prepare to make your mouth water with scrumptious menus throughout your stay. Join us for oodles of fun!
Give the gift of a unique and memorable experience this Christmas with a Farlam Hall Gift Voucher.

Chef Patron, Hrishikesh Desai brings a wealth of experience to Farlam Hall. With many accolades to his name he also successfully held a Michelin Star for six consecutive years. Being classically trained at the prestigious college Institute Paul Bocuse in Lyon, he and his team bring those classic techniques, with a nod to his heritage, a twist of Indian influences. His mantra is to bring good food, great wines and incredible hospitality.
